How can you make a man who has never known love fall in love? How can you get a man to learn to trust in a person who cannot share their real identity? This is something that Thea Maloney has to figure out for she was sent in The Generals world to change him. The 22nd century that is beyon what she has ever lived. Or so she thinks. Problem is she never knew a world existed that will show her the man she lost forever. Well not her best friend but her best friend in another time. There is a world where there is another Thea and yes her Gerard lives again. At least she thought it was her Gerard but the General is so much more. He is what her Gerard could have been a fighter, a champion to the people and most of all her lover. She has no idea why she is sent to the Generals world but knows it is up to her to fix his world maybe also to make him love again.

His world is slowly dying before his eyes. People, friends and comrades he has known are being killed by a virus that kills rapidly. He is called The General but in Thea’s eyes she is her Gerard which confuses him. The General for the first time is feeling something that is scaring him. Being with Thea he is feeling well almost human which he hasn’t felt since he was a child. Not only does he have to figure out what is causing these killings in his world but someone is sabotaging his team. He has no idea what to do or how to keep his people’s trust. Can he figure out why Thea was brought to his world? Once her identity is revealed can he learn to love her like deserves to be loved?

Being this is the first I have read from Tess Rider it pulled me in all directions. There is paranormal which I love in this book then then is science fiction thar just made me want to give up. A lot of tech babble which at times seemed too much yet in a way is important in the book. I felt for Thea in her pain and heartache yet I rooted more for the General. These two at times completed each other and also seemed to bash in every turn. Have to applaud Tess for keeping it straight between these two when at times I wanted to knock them together. All in all it was a quite surprising book for me and would love to see more from Luke Sam Temperance and even Ava they all seemed interesting. Great book.

**Melena’s Review**
Get ready for betrayal, secrets, deceit and oh tons of passion between two characters who well don`t know they`re playing each other. Jennifer Foor definitely had me on the edge of my seat for one minute I thought where this story was going and then wham Jennifer throws in an obstacle I never expected. The attraction between Windy and Moth is wow have to say there were times I was like get it on already. There were some scenes that seemed to drag but one thing about Jennifer Foor is that it picks up right away. Really hoping there is more of Moth`s team though they were hillarious to read about making Moth`s job just lauging all the way.

Right now I don’t give a shit who this chick is. I’m not treating her like a criminal, a victim, or a possible lead. Right now she’s just a beautiful woman I’m dying to fuck. With each stroke of her tongue I’m being hypnotized. She’s wrapping me around her little finger, and if I’m not careful I might get lost in this. It’s too good. She’s too perfect. Her kisses match mine like we’re old lovers. Her hands caress my arms as if she’s done this a thousand times. The more I try to back away the harder it becomes to even consider it. I’m a fiend. She’s my drug. I want to be addicted, because a single kiss has never felt this good.

One kiss. That’s all it takes for this chick to bring me to my knees. As much as I know I need to run out of there and clear my head, I remain. I don’t care about the backlash I’ll get from the guys. I don’t care about the danger, or her real identity. I’m living a lie because I know it’s the only way I can be close to her. My head is in my ass, and as long as it stays there I can continue carrying on this charade.

From the New York Times Bestseller Pepper Winters comes a snarky standalone full of romance.

They say the key to a good relationship is one with no drama.

They say you’re not trying hard enough or married the wrong person if you fight.

Sorry, but I call bulls***.

I’ve had plenty of relationships: some sweet, some happy, most an utter failure.

Until I met Harriet.

Our first conversation was an argument.

Our second conversation was an argument.

Our entire connection was based on…yep, an argument.

We tore up the rules of chance encounters and polite first meeting etiquette. And after the week I’d had, I was ready for a punch-up.

Hell, I craved one.

And Harriet was there to antagonise me.

The first time we met, we spent every hour from dusk to dawn, arguing.

And when the sun rose, neither of us wanted to stop.

Because there was something so refreshing about being honest. Saying exactly what you thought. Picking faults just because you itched to fight.

It was only supposed to be one night. A night where the town was our battlefield, the clubs a microphone to our bickering, and the stars a listener to our squabbles.

Only…I wasn’t ready to say goodbye.

You see, arguing turned out to be the best damn thing I’d ever experienced.

So, instead of agreeing to the terms we’d set, I revoked them. I went home with her. I refused to leave. And our argument turned into something so much more than a random quarrel.

It turned into war and our love wasn’t sweet…it was hostile.

**Release Day** When I’m With You by Harper Sloan

It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.

The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.

He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

Knowing that all she knows in life is bad touches never knowing that there is happiness outside the punches, whips and verbal abuse makes him angrier than ever. Can he finish the fight of his life to save a woman who has never known a life of family, happiness and love?

Tatiana Rand wants to die. Why should she live one more day of getting punched again? All she has known in her life is that her father hates her. Tatiana has never known friendship or love and the feelings she has for her man is making wonder if hope is possible. Is there love out there for a girl who has never known love or happiness in her life?

One thing about this book I loved is that Jagger never stopped in fighting for Tatiana`s happiness. The Caldwell brothers are more of a family for they are a family that brings love, happiness and second chances to their women. Tatiana just teared me apart in this book for how young she is in the book there is a strength in her that shines in this book. Jagger now talk about is sex on a stick this guy was hotter than all his brothers. The pain he has about his past is heartwrenching as well and why he is what he is now, a champion. He is Tatiana`s champion and the love he has for her is strong yet complicated. He is a man older than his woman and it scares him the feelings he has for Tatiana. MJ Fields and Chelsea Camaron just shined in this book and all the Caldwell brothers just got to me in a way no other family has done. I cannot wait for more from this family for it`s not just Jagger and Tatiana it is about family helping each other in any way possible.

The Calendar of New Beginnings by Ava Miles

The Calendar of New Beginnings by Ava Miles

Being a photographer is in Lucy O`Brien`s blood. It is all she knows and her breast friend Andy Hale knows it. Heck everbody in Dare Valley knows it and is surprised that she is back in town after globetrotting around the world. Coming home is supposed to be a time for Lucy to mend not be badgered by her family why she really is here. Yet the one person she can rely on is not only her best friend but is becoming more to her now, Andy. He has always been there for her and now that her mother has an idea to create a calendar she needs help. It has been months since her accident and doing a photo calendar of people who have lost loves ones to Cancer is not something and amateur can do. Lucy is determined to get the right picture done even if it means breaking down why she really is back in town.

Andy Hale is a man who has loved two women in his life. One of them he married, became a father and lost his wife. The other is a woman who has always been there for him since childhood and is back in his life again. Kim and Lucy are two different people yet he has loved them in different ways no one understands. Losing Kim to Breast Cancer was something he never expected to happen but his little boy needs him to be there for him. Having Lucy back in town is something he never expected her to do for going off taking pictures of the world is her thing. Ever since school she has always said the world needs her pictures and now that she is back he knows something is off too with her. Andy never thought of Lucy as more than a friend but lately he is seeing her as a woman one he is eager to kiss more and love. Everybody in the town always thought they should be together but knowing that even Kim thought happiness was just a neighbor away is scary. Can he convince Lucy that no matter how tough life is right now she always will have him in her corner?

So I`m a little torn about the latest by Ava Miles, Calendar of New Beginnings. I have been waiting for Andy`s story since reading about Blake`s story and felt it lacked for me. This is a first for me but didn`t feel the connection like her other characters. It just seemed to me that yes everybody expected Andy and Lucy to be together that they just jumped into a relationship right away. The idea of the calendar was funny though from Rhett, Chef T lol to even the older female Hale and the tatas. Just seemed that this whole book was predictable between Andy and Lucy didn`t really feel there was a chase between them like the other characters. One good thing though that always gets me is how Ava can bring every character from her previous Dare stories letting us see what has happened with them since their story. I applaud Ava though for keeping everything straight not getting us confused just wanted more of Andy and Lucy. Definitely can`t wait for Moira`s and Chase story in the next one there is a story between them going on.

He Loves Me Not by Tierney Fowler

He Loves Me Not by Tierney Fowler

3 1/2 moons

Every romance story out there is about the popular guy going after the shy, quiet geeky girl and how they live happily ever after. Yet nobody knows about the cheerleader, the popular girl that guy dumped for the quiet girl until now. All her life Maggie had a plan, well a 10 year plan wth her guy Bobby the quarterback and hello most popular guy in high school. That was until the popular guy dumped her in front of the whole town not only at a football game but days before prom. Maggie always thought they were strong with each other never imagined she would end her Senior Year single and well shunned from high school society. All she thought in life is gone and now even her best friends are looking else where. I mean come on who will want to be with her now that she is well unpopular. She can`t be a cheerleader without the quarterback by her side and now she is unsure what to do. That was until she meets a musician who is making her see that maybe there is more to life than cheerleading, parties, and even beauty pageants. High school is never going to be the same but maybe it is a good thing.

AJ Abbott only knows one thing and that is music. It has always been his thing and nothing will distract him well maybe a hot, sexy cheerleader. He knows that it is wrong to befriend Maggie a high schooler but something about her pulls at him. Knowing she just got dumped by the schools popular quarterback and is feeling alone he wants to be there for her. He knows he can`t be the man she is used to be with all her life but she deserves real love and maybe something more than just high school love. AJ has never known anything about just being friends for he has always had women go after him for no reason. Yet being with Maggie he is feeling something more than music in his life. Can he a musician show Maggie that even the dumped cheerleader can get love outside of high school?

Love in high school especially during Senior Year can be tough even for a cheerleader. Prom, graduation, homecoming three things that can either make or break a girl and unfortunately it is a time that Maggie can`t wait to finish. Being dumped can be harsh but going from being popular to being shunned all in one week can be well quiet cruel. Tierney Fowler just made me laugh throughout the book by how well naive and sometimes silly Maggie sounded in the book. It felt to me the whole book was like a rollercoaster between Maggie and AJ. Seemed she was just so stuck in being dumped that she got confused with real feelings towards AJ. Don`t get me wrong high school is tough and seeing Maggie dealing with this just seemed like she could have handled it a lot better. All in all it just didn`t do anything for me seemed to juvenile for me. I wanted more of Maggie and seemed like Tierney could have made her stronger just seemed like she gave up on her and in some cases in the book seemed ditzy to me.
